Hi all.
My name is Torben Andersen. I live in Denmark and have just started the process of building a B737NG cockpit. A project I estimate to take "some" years.

One of the problems I've been thinking at is the keayboard and mouse problem. Those rodents don't really belong on the flightdeck - and they wander along all over the place - taking too much space. One possibility is a trackball, which could be integrated in the pedestal bay, but today I found that you can buy a loose touchpad at www.ergonomictouchpad.com and it should be easy to insert into the pedestal bay ' looking almost as an empty slot.

The keyboard is a bit harder. I found a small "frogpad" but apparently the company has stopped. Perhaps a touchscreen is an option (as lower EICAS).

One question - stupid perhaps - but I wondered how you guys make a pushback, when no pushbackgauge is found?

Yours

Torben Andersen

Hallo Torben,

If you use Project Magenta you can do a pushback from the CDU. The other possibilty is to have a special panel built and do it from there. My friends from Sweden (see their web site: http://www.boeing737sim.se/index.html did just that. The panel also has provisions for the TSR Electronic Checklist.

Success,
