the wiring diagram of the switches is embossed on the side of the switch.

in short:
the 4 pin terminal is for the switch. You need the 2 outer pins for a normally open connection. You can connect either end to a common and a input on the fds card. it is not polarity sensitive.

The 2 pin terminal is for the led. it is polarity sensitive and the polarity is depicted on the side of the switch.
One pin to the anode, the other to the cathode of your fds card.
The led needs 5-6 volts. The FDS card does not supply this so it might be dim under bright conditions. In this case you need a way around this. for example with a relay.

in fact it's written on the back of it 4 digits which is 3 1 2 4 so i will use like this

3 1 2 4
- + + +

or

3 1 2 4
- + + *

( * ) is not connected

Thanks

Are you talking about the switch part here ?

You need the 2 OUTER terminals. These 2 are for a NO (normally open circuit) and close the circuit when pushed.
You can simply test this with a multi meter.
As it is a switch, polarity is not an issue here.

Oh yeah i'm talking about switch part Smile
and i made a test they close the circuit when it`s pushed.

But how do i connect it to the FDS-SYS4X card?

Thanks

well, i dont have a fds sys card, but as far as i can tell from the manual, inputs are grouped in 8 with a common ground.
i.e. 8 inputs use 1 common ground.

the mastercaution switch uses one input, but shares his ground with 7 other inputs.

On a connector from the sys card you will have on common and 8 inputs. wire one terminal to an input, wire the other to the common ground.

This common ground will be shared with 7 other inputs (switches), so you can wire this ground frome one switch to another to another to etc.
and from all these switches the other lead(s) go to an input.

take a look on page 14 of the fds sys card manual and check the 4th diagram which explains wiring a push button.

Best regards,

Stef

asrar, of the 4 pin terminal for the switch you do not need to wire all 4 terminals. ONLY the outer 2 !

So:

1 X X 4

Only these 2 pins are wired to your interface.
1 wire to the common ground (1)
1 wire to a input of your interface (4)

If the black 1 on the FDS card is the common, you wire one wire to "1" and the other to "2".
You only need one input as this is a simple push button.
Please study the FDS manual. It has a clear explanation on how to wire their SYS card.

If i understand the manual right, your SYS card came with connectors and cable where the common ground is differently coloured from the inputs. This should even make it easier to identify the common pin and the input pins on the fds card.

You do not need to wire 2 and 3 (2 and 3 are for a NC circuit: normally closed, does not apply to your situation)

Then there is the led part:
2 pin terminal.
1 wire to the common
1 wire to the output of your interface.

However, the FDS card can not output 5 volts, so the led in the switch will not be bright.

As far as wiring your FDS Sys4 card goes.
I really cant make the diagram simpler as the one shown on page 14 of their manual

Thanks again i really appreciate it. Very Happy

we used to sell brightness boosters that could be soldered at the back of the switch. With these you could power the switch with 5-12 volts while the output of your interface is only triggering the powersource.

We stopped producing them as our own ICS interface outputs the correct voltage for the led in the switch.

I believe we sold our remaining stock to the aviation megastore. Mean while i could check here if we have some left. How many do you need ? 2 or 4 ?

Alternatively you could change the led bulb to a 2 or 3 volts one.
