Hello all

After simulating an engine fire the fire warning bell cut out switch, after pressing would not extinguish.

Any ideas why this would be?

Thanks in advance

I'm using the CPFlight MIP board.

Haven't had the chance to test anything yet.

the cpflight mipboard comes with test software.
Check if the switch works there. This is an easy way to check if its a connection problem or a software problem.

Is the switch wired correctly (2 outer pins of the 4 pin terminal).

Hi

Checked the wiring all seems ok. I've tested the LED in CPFlight test, how do you test the switch?

Thank you

in the cpflight test program there is a field the shows the number of the input when you press it.

also you can test if the circuit closes with a multimeter with continuity tester,

If the cplfight test software is recording the switchpresses on and off, the interface appearently is receiving the correct information from the switch.

So the problem must be searched in your avionics software (thats why i also asked what software you are using in my first reply)

Hi Stef

Further to my post on 20/10/13 I have checked everything again and assuming the connections to the fire warning cut out switch are similar to the master caution switch then I believe the wiring to be as it should but pressing the button does not stop the bell ringing.

And of course the switches are recognised in CPFlight test.exe and CPFlight modules are automatically detected in Prosim. Everything else on the MIP board functions correctly it is just the two fire warning cut out switches that don't.

Have you any suggestions?

Thank you.

The same answer that i gave above.

If the cpflight test software is detecting the keypress then hardwarewise everything is in order.

You have to look into your software.
Is everything assigned correctly in the prosim software ?
Isnt some setting overruling the mipboard ? (maybe in the prosim settings, the firewarn switch/ bell cutout is assigned to something else ?)

Are there no other conditions overruling the bell cutout ?

Just waiting for a reply from Prosim.

I was under the impression if everything is automatically detected and controlled by Prosim in relation to CPFlight modules nothing more needed to be done.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the reply.

Hi Stef

Are the connections on the fire bell cut out switch the same configuration as the master caution switches?

Thank you
